Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Subscribing supports the farm by allowing us to pay for equipment and materials at the beginning of the
season when it's needed instead of going into debt on speculation. It also saves you the trouble of
shopping, offers significant savings over farmers market prices, and may introduce you to some new foods.
CSA members get preferential treatment; if we have only enough of something to provide for CSA
members, we won't be offering that item at the farmers markets.
Payment is by cash (in person only--please don't mail cash), check (payable to Frijolito Farm), or
credit card/Pay Pal. To pay with your credit card, just use the "Add to Cart" buttons below and proceed
to check out. Otherwise, get a hold of us by phone, mail, email, or in person, and we'll get you signed
up.
We have a variety of options to fit your lifestyle:

Vegetable CSA
The vegetable CSA will run from the first week of June through the end of October (22 weeks). It
includes seasonal, locally grown vegetables. We
use only natural fertilizers and organic-approved sprays. This plan works out to about $20 a week.
We often get asked how many people a share feeds. Given that we don't know how much you eat,
pictures seemed to be the best answer. These are pictures of shares from the first few weeks of the 2009
season, the first year we did a CSA. The portions will be larger than this in 2010. In addition to the items
listed on our produce page, we also included
wild-foraged black walnuts and puffball mushrooms toward the end of the season in 2009.
Veggie share: $450

Bread CSA
Under this plan, you'll receive one loaf (or several rolls, etc.) of home-baked bread every week. We'll
be experimenting with a variety of breads, so it might be whole wheat one week, Italian the next, challa the
week after that, etc. These breads will be baked with local ingredients when possible. This plan works out
to $3 a week. (ATTENTION VEGANS: This bread may contain milk and eggs.)
March 6 - October 30 (35 weeks): $105 May 1 - October 30 (27 weeks):
$81 June 5 - October 30 (22 weeks): $66

Eggs CSA Sold out
We expect to have more eggs available in June. When that happens, we'll make more shares available. Until then, the egg shares are sold out.
We're starting the eggs earlier in 2010! The egg CSA will run from March 6 - October 30 (35
weeks). In 2009, we offered half-dozens, but most of the people who bought them opted to pick up a
whole dozen every other week instead, so we're changing the plan accordingly. Our eggs sell for $3.50 a
dozen at the farmers markets and sell out fast. By subscribing to our egg CSA, you know you'll get your
eggs every week, and for only $3.25 a dozen. We expect this will be a popular option, so we may end up
not having eggs to take to the market. Sign up early!
$113.75 for one dozen a week. $58.50 for a dozen every other week (18
weeks).

Chicken CSA
This year the chicken CSA will run from May 1 - October 30 (27 weeks). We have three options for
chicken: a whole bird every week, a whole bird every other week (14 chickens), or a pack of leg quarters
every week. The whole birds figure out to $12 each. Those of you who've bought whole chickens from us
at the markets for $14-$18 each know what a bargain this is.
The leg quarter packages each contain two leg quarters (two drumsticks and two thighs). These tend to
be about a pound or a little more per package. At the market, these cost $3.75 a pound, but by signing up
for the season, you'll get them for $3 a pack every week.
$324 for one whole chicken every week. $168 for one chicken every other week
(total of 14 chickens). $81 for one pack of leg quarters every week.

Pick-up will be at the Clintonville Farmers Market on Saturday mornings once that is in session. On
pick-up days when there is no market, pickup will be at Frijolito Farm from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you can't make it to the farmers market for pickup Saturday morning, contact us and let us know you'll be out between 3 and 6 that day. We think this is reasonable since we're in
town, but delivery will be available for an extra fee. The delivery fee will fluctuate with the price of gas, but we'd consider waiving it if several members agree to have their shares delivered to the same place.
If you'd like to have chicken pieces other than what we offer in the CSA plans, you can still buy them individually, and we'll have them ready for pick-up with your regular share.
